Our Story
Thank you for taking a moment of your busy time to browse our website here at Church of Israel. We are most happy to greet you in the glorious Name of Jesus Christ and welcome you to a bit of our history. We are an autonomous Protestant Church Body rooted and grounded in Southwest Missouri since 1941. The Church is focused on the historic Christian and Apostolic faith and doctrine of first century Christianity. The goal is to build a Church on Sola Scriptura, and the Bible of record for this Congregation is The Authorized King James Version. The Church honors Jesus Christ as Head of the Church and all the essential doctrinal points encompassed in the historic Apostles and Nicene Creed. We use a modified version of the 1928 Book of Common Prayer for our worship service, with a traditional Bible sermon preached directly from the Bible to follow. Our services employ the historic hymns of the Christian faith and we are committed to singing Psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs of the faith. In many ways the Church here is what you would expect to find in most of America in the year 1950. A very radical transformation of the American Culture has been under way for the past seventy-five years. During this same time frame the Church here in Missouri has remained unchanged from the moral boundaries set in Scripture. We embrace a biblical moral standard and love and advance what Jesus Christ and the Bible teaches and we oppose all moral behavior that mitigates against Sola Scriptura. We approach the path to salvation that embraces the Depravity of Man, Unconditional Election, Limited Atonement, Irresistible Grace, and the Divine Preservation of the saints. Salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Jesus Christ alone, for the glory of God alone. We hold worship services on the historic Biblical Sabbath of the Seventh Day and honor all the biblical Holy Days including Passover & Unleavened Bread, Pentecost, Trumpets, the Day of Atonement, and the Feast of Tabernacles. Our attendance is by invitation only. If you wish to open up discussion for a visit we encourage you to call our offices at 417-432-3119.
