Breizh Partitions was created in 2002, following a first Web site dedicated to pipe-bands en Breton bagadoù (traditional Celtic ensembles). Focusing on free sheet music, Breizh Partitions consists in a large base of sheet music, mostly Celtic music, but also traditional and folk music from all over the world. Some more modern scores (such as film original soundtrack or classical music) are also available on the Web site. Following a spirit close to that of the free software community, Breizh Partitions tries whenever possible to also give the source of the sheet music (that is the file used to engrave the score, using a dedicated music software such as LilyPond), and to give it under a license allowing modification and diffusion of the sheet music… all free of charge. Whenever possible, we also try to offer either midi files, or mp3 associated with the scores, played by musicians when such records exist. We hope that this Web site will be useful by all musicians, so as to spear traditional music from all over the world.
