A business certificate must be filed for any person, partnership, or corporation conducting business in Cambridge under a name other than their own. The form must be signed before a Notary Public.

After you have completed the online application you have two options:
1. Print the complete form, have it signed before a Notary Public and returned by mail with a $50 check to:

2. Come to the clerk’s office to have the application notarized and pay in the office. You will not need to print the form beforehand.
Business certificates are valid for four years and must be renewed at the City Clerk's Office.
