Baseball Almanac is pleased to present a comprehensive chart of every Washington State University (WSU) alumni who played baseball at Washington State University AND made it to the Major League level.
"I was hoping to stay with the (Dodgers), but it didn't work out. Everybody's goal here (Las Vegas 51s) is to get to the big leagues, so I'm just like all the other guys in this clubhouse. I just go out and play hard every day, and hopefully I'll make the team sometime during the year." - Kinkade, Mike. Las Vegas Review-Journal. 13 April 2002.

The Washington State University baseball program started in 1892. Art McLarney was the first former Cougar to the Major League level. Names that appear on the chart above in bold print are in the Washington State University Hall of Fame.
The college adopted the Cougars as their mascot after Governor Roland Hartley of Washington gave a cougar cub named Butch (in honor of football star Herbert "Butch" Meeker) to the students of Washington State College in 1927.
