Oran Park Raceway

Closed/Former Venue

Oran Park Raceway is a former motorsport venue which was located near Narellan in Sydney's south-west. The circuit closed in January 2010 and is now the site of a large housing development known as Oran Park Town, containing some 7,000 residents.

Oran Park Raceway

The circuit opened in February 1962 and in 1974, its 1.96km track was extended to 2.62km with the addition of the north circuit, featuring its iconic bridge, to create the 'Grand Prix Circuit'. The initial circuit would continue to be known as the south circuit. During its 48-year existence, Oran Park hosted a number of events including 65 V8 Supercars races, Superbike World Championship, Castrol 6 Hour, and the Australian Grand Prix in 1974 and 1977. During the mid-1990's, it also hosted NASCAR and AUSCAR races under lights on its south circuit. The final Supercars event was held at the venue in 2008.

The complex featured grandstand seating for 3,000 fans in addition to plenty of great viewing areas. It also has a motocross track, a skidpan, a dirt track and four wheel drive course and a 1000-foot drag strip.
