Netstrata Jubilee Stadium

Netstrata Jubilee Stadium

Netstrata Jubilee Stadium, also known as Kogarah Park, is the home ground of NRL side St George Illawarra Dragons. Prior to its merger with the Illawarra Steelers, the venue hosted all home games for the St George Dragons, however games are now shared with WIN Stadium in Wollongong. The Dragons moved Sydney games back to Kogarah in 2003 following heavy community lobbying after previously playing them at the Sydney Football Stadium. Sydney FC played the majority of their A-League home games at the venue while Allianz Stadium was rebuilt, and the Cronulla Sharks played their NRL home games at Jubilee Stadium in 2020/21 while Shark Park was closed.

Since the Dragons returned to their spiritual home, the venue has undergone a significant transformation. An initial $2.4 million upgrade led to improved corporate facilities, new seating and other spectator facilities to bring the venue up to NRL standard.

Jubilee Stadium

Prior to the 2004 Federal Election, Jubilee Stadium gained $8 million from the Howard Government that allowed a new program of enhancements to take place including the installation of 6,235 new seats and lighting. That development increased the total capacity up to 20,541. The venue received yet another upgrade during the 2008 season which included an extension to the northern grandstand and the grandstand was further extended in 2011. Oki and WIN previously held the naming-rights to the ground but as of 2015 the name has reverted to Jubilee Oval, and now Jubilee Stadium. As of 2019, it is now known as Netstrata Jubilee Stadium following a new three-year naming-rights deal, extended for a further year until January 2023. The new naming rights sponsor coincided with the installation of the new 98 square-metre video screen on the stadium’s eastern hill.
