Addition

[edit]

I added it to the article that the couple buying the house in Paraguay is in fact Walter Fielding's father who was responsible for taking all of Walter's money. A sort of poetic justice. -- HuronKing 19:25, 4 August 2006 69.224.38.124

Paraguay, Rio, or Miami

[edit]

I'm reasonably sure that the ending sequence is a shot of Villa Vizcaya, but Miami is not listed as a shooting location... ComputerGeezer (talk) 00:13, 8 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I am not sure if this makes a difference, but the joke of the Family Guy line is that Peter's response in The Godfather discussion is to not liking it because he doesn't understand its subtlety, highlighting that Money Pit is not, of all things, subtle. Why, why, why, WHY??? Why does every article in Wikipedia have to be crammed in with a Simpsons or Family Guy reference? How is that POSSIBLY relevent? Does it clarify the plot? No. Does it explain how the film was made? No. Does it speak to how the film performed at the box office? No. All of these "References in Popular Culture" are thin excuses to post non-relevent Simpsons/Family Guy references throughout Wikipedia, and are no more important that a Trivia section (I would argue that Trivia sections are more helpful to those trying to find out information about the FILM ITSELF). Yet Triva sections are routinely deleted while these thinly veiled pieces of fandom are allowed to remain.
Is this truly the ONLY non-plot related piece of information that can be included here? 70.91.35.27 (talk) 20:50, 23 January 2009 (UTC)Tim[reply]
Yeah, I understand what you're saying. I always wondered why Trivia sections were deleted instead of just being edited to take out silly stuff. I just thought that if the Family Guy reference has to stay, at least it should be known what context it's being referenced in. At least that's in some way informational. SamuraiPanda201 (talk) 23:33, 29 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Every article in Wikipedia should have a Simpsons reference section. Portillo (talk) 04:50, 10 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
NO article except for their own should have a Simpsons reference. That awful show ruins some of the coolest things on this website just because they lamely mentioned it once. It's nice to see that going away now. 72.154.144.85 (talk) 21:50, 29 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
