On the International Day of Peace, Olympic medallists Tulu and Meyer reflect on a defining winning moment

They were the most natural of actions, but the hugs, kisses and flag-laden celebrations of Ethiopia’s Derartu Tulu and South Africa’s Elana Meyer after winning gold and silver respectively in the women’s 10,000m at the Olympic Games Barcelona 1992 have never been forgotten.
