Schneemann means snowman in German.

Description

The first Winter Games mascot, Schneemann wore a red Tyrolean hat typical of the region that hosted the Winter Games for the second time.

‒ This first Olympic Winter Games mascot turned out to be a commercial success. It was made available through various items such as t-shirts, soft toys, stickers, cushions, keyrings and even glassware.

‒ There are objects with Schneemann holding a hockey stick or wearing skis and boots. This practice of representing the mascot in various poses would continue in the future.
