Re-live Innsbruck 2012!
Today marks three years to the day since the curtain was raised at the first ever Winter Youth Olympic Games! On 13 January 2012, over 1,000 athletes gathered in the picturesque city of Innsbruck, Austria, to compete against some of the best young sportsmen and women from around the world and to have the experience of a lifetime.
With sport and so much more on the agenda, athletes and other young participants - from coaches and officials, to young reporters and ambassadors - learned valuable life skills via an extensive Culture and Education Programme, with activities ranging from mountain safety to injury prevention. And for those spectating there were amazing opportunities to try out the sports and soak up some of the cultural activities on offer.
Over the next 10 days, we will bring to you some of our favourite YOG memories from incredible Innsbruck!
With Lillehammer 2016 just over a year away, what better way to whet the appetite and get you YOG fans in the mood for what is sure to be another fantastic Games.
