Novak Djokovic is a Serbian professional tennis player and is the current World No. 3.
He won his first Grand Slam singles title at the 2008 Australian Open. After beating World No. 1 and defending champion Roger Federer in the semi-finals, Djokovic defeated Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in the final, becoming the first player representing Serbia to win a Grand Slam singles title and the youngest player in the open era to have reached the semifinals of all four Grand Slam events.
He was the runner-up at the 2007 US Open and won the bronze medal in singles representing Serbia at the 2008 Olympic Games. He won the Tennis Masters Cup in 2008 and has won four Masters Series tournaments.

Defending champion Novak Djokovic beat Rafael Nadal to win the Australian Open 2012 title. This is Djokovic's fifth grand slam title, having won the Australian Open, Wimbledon and US Open titles in 2011. Djokovic and Nadal crated history by playing the longest match in the Australian Open grand slam and also the longest match in any final of a grand slam tournament. Novak Djokovic has missed the Davis Cup matches against Sweden. Serbia captain Bogdan Obradovic said that he decided to give Djokovic rest after his grueling five-set victory in the final of Australian Open.
At the Dubai event, Djokovic lost to Andy Murray ending his 18 match winning streak at the event.
At the Paris Masters, Novak Djokovic crashed out of the second round of the Paris Masters 2012. This match made into the record books at Wimbledon as the latest ever finish to a match on the Centre Court. The match concluded at 10:58 pm in the night and was interrupted for 45 minutes for the roof to be closed. Djokovic beat Taylor Dent in the second round and Albert Montanes in third round. He defeated former World No. 1 Lleyton Hewitt in four sets in the fourth round. In the quarterfinals, Djokovic beat Yen-Hsun Lu 6-3, 6-2, 6-2.
