UFC 168 Loses Shane del Rosario vs. Guto Inocente Due to Injuries
With just over a month to go until the event, UFC 168 has lost a heavyweight bout.
Both Shane Del Rosario and Guto Inocente have suffered injuries and are forced off the Las Vegas fight card, UFC officials announced on Thursday.
Inocente and del Rosario were scheduled to fight each other on the undercard of the Dec. 28 Pay-Per-View. The injuries of the athletes were not disclosed in the announcement.
Inocente (6-2) was set to make his UFC debut in the fight against del Rosario. Previous to the scratched fight, the Brazilian fighter made rounds in his homeland's regional MMA circuit with one Strikeforce fight in the U.S. to his credit in May of 2012.
As for del Rosario (11-2), he was looking for his first win in the UFC before falling off the card. The fighter developed an 11-0 tally before entering the Octagon, being finished in both contests upon his arrival to the organization.
UFC 168 is set to take place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. It is headlined by a rematch between middleweight champion Chris Weidman defending the belt against the man he defeated for the strap, Anderson Silva.
