Aparna Sen may cast the newbie opposite Dev in her adaptation of the Shakespearean tragedy
You could say its the biggest question in Tollywood today who will play Juliet in Aparna Sens revisiting of the Shakespeare classic? Though the film starring Dev as Romeo goes on the floors in January, no one in the unit is sure about who will slip into the dainty shoes of the Capulet girl.

So heres the scoop. CT has heard from reliable sources that the National Award-winning director is considering casting newbie Ritika Sen in the lead. Though she has not been locked yet, a source close to the unit told us, Rinadi (Aparna) has held quite a few auditions and is leaving no stone unturned to find the right actress to play Juliet. Though she hasnt confirmed it yet, but it seems she is quite fond of Ritika and has been toying with the idea of casting her.
If this happens, it would be a big break for the newcomer. Ritika, who started out with Masoom, which sank without a trace at the box office, was relaunched by Raj Chakrabarty. The director cast her opposite Bonny Sengupta in Borbaad, but that film too proved a box-office dud.
Meanwhile, Dev is gearing up to play the lead in Sens movie. Since the script has a lyrical touch to it, the actor will need time to do his homework. In fact, both the leads will have to do a workshop conducted by Sohag Sen. The film was supposed to hit the floors this year-end, but because of Kamaleswar Mukherjees Mahabharat, where Dev plays Arjun, Sens film has been pushed back by a month. As for Mahabharat, its heard that almost the whole industry is coming together under one roof to give wing to this ambitious project.
