MOSCOW, December 1. /TASS/. This year's autumn has become the warmest for Moscow since 1879, with the average air temperature of the season amounting to 8.8 degrees Celsius (almost 48 degrees Fahrenheit), leading specialist of the Phobos weather center Mikhail Leus wrote on his Telegram channel.
"The fall of 2024 became the warmest for Moscow since 1879 with the season’s highest recorded meteorological observation in history. <...> Its average temperature was 3.1 degrees Celsius (nearly 38 degrees Fahrenheit) warmer than previous autumns," the forecaster said," the forecaster said.
"Previously, the autumns of 1938 and 1974 were the warmest - in those years, the seasonal average temperature was 7.9 degrees Celsius (or about 46 degrees Fahrenheit). In the fall of 2023, the average temperature was 7.1 degrees Celsius (approximately 45 degrees Fahrenheit)," the forecaster added.
