Making and receiving calls on iOS devices with Dual SIM

Left chevron Back to Support Home

See Using Dual SIM with an eSIM (Apple Support) for more information.

With dual SIM:

  • You can make and receive phone calls with either phone number
  • Only one phone number can be using the cellular network at a time

Receiving a call while on the other line

If you're on a call on one number, and another call comes in, the other number will give a No Service message unless:

iPhone only
All phones
  • You have Call Forwarding set up to forward the incoming call to the number you're on
    • Call Waiting will work while you're on a call

If you have voice mail on the other number and you ignore the call, the call will go to voice mail and:

  • You won't get a missed-call notification if the number had No Service
  • You'll get a missed-call notification if the number had service (through Wi-Fi Calling or Cellular Data Switching)
