The Horosho Chokeslam is one of Zangief's throws in Street Fighter V.
Street Fighter V | + (Near crouching opponent) |
---|
Description[]
Executed by pressing Light Punch and Light Kick, (the throw command) near a crouching opponent. Zangief starts the throw by wrapping his hand around the back of his opponent's head and lifts them up. He then lifts his opponent off of their feet, before slamming them face-first into the ground.
Tactics[]
While Zangief's gameplay is heavily reliant on command throws, it is important to have his normal throws as an option. Even though this move does less damage compared to Screw Pile Driver, it has less frames of whiff recovery. If Zangief is going for a meaty attack, the opponent may try to respond with a neutral jump to avoid the potential command throw and be in position to whiff punish him. However, the normal throw will give Zangief plenty of time to recover and launch a counterattack against the opponent. Additionally, compared to Zangief's other normal throws, the Horosho Chokeslam inflicts slightly more damage.
