Yogurt industry in the UK - statistics & facts
Yogurt can be found in supermarkets around the world, in different sweet or savory variations. It is also a common food found in the diet of both Europeans and those from the United Kingdom (UK), as almost 40 percent of the worldwide yogurt market is held by Europe. In recent years, yogurt has become more appealing amongst consumers due to its status as a health-food.
The leading brand of yogurt products was Yeo Valley. In 2021, an estimated 4.16 million people consumed any Yeo Valley yogurt and fromage frais product in Great Britain (GB). This was followed closely by Müller Light and Müller Fruit Corner. Tesco was the leading supermarket brand for yogurt drink products, with nearly two million Great British consumers using it each year.

The production volume of yogurt in the UK peaked in 2020 at around 528,000 metric tons. Since then, this figure has decreased by just over 100,000 metric tons.
