average price of Airbnb and HomeAway rentals in the region was between 75 and 80 U.S. dollars. When looking at the
average price for hotel rooms in the Brussels-Capital Region, tourists had to pay approximately 111 euros for one night in 2020, around 12 euros less compared to the previous year. This downward trend no doubt resulted from the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, which
hit the global tourism industry hard that year.

attendance at museums and attractions in the Brussels-Capital Region, figures experienced a slight recovery in 2021, but not back to their 2019 pre-pandemic level. During August 2021, museums and attractions in the region reported just over 250,000 attendees, half of the attendance recorded in August 2019.
