In 2022, 148 companies were listed on the ChiNext board at the Shenzhen Stock Exchange. In comparison to that, the Sci-Tech Innovation Board or Star market attracted 123 IPOs. It was the latest board added to the Shanghai Stock Exchange. From its regulatory structure, it was very similar to the NASDAQ. The aim was to build a market that attracts innovative startups.
