As of February 2023, more than half – 53 percent – of internet users surveyed in Brazil and aged 55 years and over said they accessed news on WhatsApp. Among respondents from the 25-34 age group, the share stood at 33 percent. The reliance on Facebook as a news source in Brazil was also lower among internet users aged 25 to 34.
