IKEA: global retail sales share 2023, by sales channel

In the financial year of 2023, about 74 percent of IKEA's global retail sales were generated in the company's existing retail stores. In comparison, online sales of the Swedish furniture retail conglomerate made up to about 23 percent of its global sales.

With it’s first store opening back in 1958 in Älmhult, a small town in the south of Sweden, IKEA has now grown into the world’s largest furniture retailer. Over the years, IKEA’s global annual revenue has shown a general increase, reaching nearly 48 billion euros in 2023.

With nearly one quarter of its revenue generated through online sales, IKEA’s web store is favoured amongst global consumers. In 2023, IKEA.com ranked third amongst competitors worldwide in terms of e-commerce sales. The same year, IKEA.com was visited nearly four billion times globally.
