Smokers in Denmark
According to an annually conducted survey, 22 percent of Danes were smokers in 2017. This includes daily smokers, weekly smokers as well as occasional smokers. In 2022, smoking was generally more common among men than women; the share of male smokers amounted to 22 percent, while the share of female smokers was 16 percent.
Sales of cigarettes and cigars
In the ten-year period from 2012 to 2022, the sales volume of cigars and cigarettes in Denmark fluctuated. In 2014, it was highest, reaching 126 million units of cigarettes and cigar sold. By the end of this period, the sales volume amounted to 22 million units in Denmark.
