In 2023, the female population of Europe was estimated to be approximately 384 million, compared with the male population of 358.3 million. Compared with 1950, the female population of Europe has increased by approximately 90 million, while the male population has grown by around 100 million, with the large deficit in males during the mid-twentieth century in Europe being a direct result of World War II.
