PC shipments in India 2019-2023, by OEM

In 2023, HP Inc. shipped around 4.3 million units of personal computers in India, with a decrease from the previous year of around three percent. The total shipments saw a visible decrease from 2022 of 6.6 percent. 

India’s PC and its segment market

Digitalization across various industries in India had increased the demand for electronic products such as computers, laptops, desktops, notebooks, and workstations among Indian consumers. The ownership of computers in Indian households was expected to experience enormous growth between 2022 and 2025, increasing from 33 million to 37 million. The revenue of the desktop PCs market was predicted to increase steadily and reach over 1.6 billion U.S. dollars by 2025 in India.

Electronics market in India

The Make in India campaign aims to expand and transform the manufacturing sector across India. With government support and private initiatives, the Indian electronics industry experienced a jump in the domestic production and consumption of electronics, with the sector expected to grow considerably by 2026. In 2023, the consumption value of electronics across the country was estimated to be around 8.7 trillion Indian rupees. In the same year, the domestic production of electronics contributed close to three percent towards the GDP of India.
