The majority of content creators in India across platforms were micro influencers, amounting to around three million in 2023. Contrariwise, there were less than 1,000 elite influencers, who had the most followers, in the country during the same period. Micro influencers had the highest reach and engagement rate among all the content creator tiers. The overall number of user-generated content creators or influencers in India figured around four million that year.
