Russian and Belarusian athletes eligible for competing at the Paris 2024 Olympics
In the build up to the Paris 2024 Olympics and Paralympics, a major contention was the eligibility of Russian and Belarusian athletes to compete in the Games. As of March 2024, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) had confirmed that 12 athletes with Russian passports and seven Belarusian passport-holders were able to compete at the Paris 2024 Games. However, athletes from these countries were only able to compete as part of the Athlètes Individuels Neutres (AIN) team, with any reference to their home nations strictly banned.
