In June 2023, Germany exported a total of three terawatt-hours of electricity. From January 2020 to March 2023, the electricity exported from Germany was larger on average than the amount of electricity imported to Germany. The decrease of exported electricity in April, May, and June 2023 is associated with shutdown of the last three nuclear power plants in Germany in April 2023, as the electricity previously produced by nuclear energy was offset with imported electricity.
