According to a survey on online news consumption behavior conducted in India in 2023, trustworthiness and simple language were the two leading reasons consumers chose to source the news online. The popularity of online news among their peers over traditional news media was the next most important reason for online news consumption in India as indicated by 45 percent of respondents.
