The most common reason given by both male and female Gen-Z respondents in the United States in 2021 for participating in dry January was for health or wellness. A further 25 percent of female respondents indicated they were interested in completely stopping drinking and 14.3 percent of male respondents claimed they were participating in order to improve relationships.
