Natural gas reserves in Africa totaled around 625.6 trillion cubic feet in 2021. The amount increased strongly since 2000, due to new discoveries of natural gas on the continent in the last decades. Among the countries, Nigeria concentrated most natural gas reserves, around one-quarter of Africa's total reserves.
