Assassin's Creed lifetime series unit sales 2010-2022
In September 2022, the Assassin's Creed action adventure video game series had generated approximately 200 million lifetime unit sales, making it one of the most popular gaming franchises worldwide. The plot of the series circles around the eternal conflict between the Assassins and the Templars and players are able to explore open-world historical settings, which are a mixture of historical fiction, science fiction, and real-world historical events.
The first Assassin's Creed game was released in November 2007 and since then, there has been a new AC game almost every November. There are currently twelve main series games and just as many spin-offs. The most recent installment of the franchise is Assassin's Creed Valhalla, which was launched in November 2020 for eighth generation consoles and the then just-released PlayStation 5 and Xbox X/S. At the end of 2021, publisher Ubisoft announced that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla became the second most profitable game in the company's history thanks to DLC and premium sales.
