Around one in three Japanese increased their do-it-yourself (DIY) and handcrafting activities during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic as revealed in a survey conducted in January 2021 in Japan. While the majority, over 60 percent, did not notice a change in the time they spent on DIY, 20.5 percent of respondents stated that they increased the time a little bit since March 2020.
