According to a survey in June 2020, almost 60 percent of Chinese respondents said they are cooking more at home compared to before the coronavirus pandemic. Meanwhile, about 36 percent of respondents say their frequency of cooking at home stayed the same.

The survey was conducted among respondents who resided in China's tier-1 and tier-2 cities with above average household income.
The respondents had an interest in food and links with health and wellbeing.
962 respondents had digestive health issues, 858 had immune health issues, and 833 of them had metabolic health issues.
The survey conducted in March 2019 was among 3,082 respondents.
