Young population in Africa 2000-2040, by educational level
As of 2020, around 77 million people aged 15-29 years in Africa had upper secondary or tertiary education, against the 47 million in 2010. Considering a business-as-usual scenario, the amount of better-educated youth at the said educational level should increase to 164 million in 2040. By this year, other 240 million young Africans would have primary or lower secondary education, increasing from the 152 million estimated in 2020.
