If the Consumer Price Index (CPI) measures the average change in prices over a certain period, reflecting thus, customer purchasing power, 2015 was the year with the most noteworthy increase in major food product prices in Russia. Thereof was closely related to a high inflation rate over that year in the country. In 2023, fruits accounted for the highest CPI among the listed products.
