Crude oil consumption in Brazil stood at roughly 2.57 million barrels per day in 2023, an increase of nearly 2.2 percent in comparison to the previous year. Since peaking in 2014, at more than 2.7 million barrels per day, Brazilian oil consumption has experienced a mostly downward trend in the second half of the decade. Nevertheless, oil still accounts for the largest share of primary energy consumption in Brazil.
