Both the average and the cheapest annual energy tariffs of the energy suppliers in Great Britain were just below the energy price cap of 2,500 British pounds as of July 2023. Only Utility Warehouse offered an energy tariff below 2,400 British pounds.
British Gas, EDF Energy, E.ON, Scottish Power, and SSE (recently acquired by OVO Energy) are known as the "Big Six" energy suppliers operating in the United Kingdom.
