In 2019, almost 44 percent of British adults who were using 'illegal'* cannabis to treat the symptoms or side effects of medical conditions were normally spending up to 99 British pounds a month on the drug, while nearly five percent of sufferers were spending over four hundred pounds to treat themselves with cannabis. Additionally, approximately nine percent spend nothing when obtaining the cannabis they use for their medical conditions, indicating that they may be growing their own supply.
