In 2023, the volume of air pollutant emissions from carbon oxide (CO) in Russia was the highest among other substances, measuring at nearly 8.5 million metric tons from both stationary and mobile sources. In the same year, about 3.3 million metric tons of sulfur dioxide (SO₂) were emitted in the atmosphere.
