According to a survey on sexual harassment conducted in Malaysia in June 2019, 61 percent of respondents who have heard of the #MeToo movement were of the opinion that it made people more open to talk about sexual harassment. Sexual harassment was still viewed as something to be kept quiet about, with 47 percent of respondents who have experienced sexual harassment admitting that they have not reported or told anyone about it.
