In December 2023, United States gas station retail sales were estimated to exceed 49 billion U.S. dollars, down from 51.7 billion attained the month before. 
In 2023, the largest chain of privately owned convenience stores and gas stations in the North American country was Love's Travel Stops & Country Stores, which generated a revenue of roughly 26.5 billion U.S. dollars.
