  • it`s ok. I mean it´s free. You can make you own plane or download one from the web.
  • Amazing project. Needs some polish. I was just going to give up on it, since there wasn't really any scenery for my neck of the woods, until I enabled osm2city generated scenery. Seriously, this should be the default! VFR flying desperately needs something visual, besides an airport and random textures. Otherwise an enduring fan of this project. Also the Appimage packaging for Linux really takes the guesswork out of the install.

  • For a free, flight simulator this is amazing! Works great on almost every setup. It is beautiful looking. The plane's controls are easy to learn. The planes are accurately detailed (eg. Cessna) and the physics are really realistic. As you are probably saying MSFS is better, and indeed MSFS is better but with a cost. For being completely free, this is amazing!
  • I'm a long-time MS "flier", and I ran across FlightGear and gave it a try on my older laptop that can't nearly handle FS 2020, and I gotta say, I'm blown away at the solid, open-source sim that this has become! Look...it ain't FS 2020, but if your want to take to the skies in a Cessna (or variety of other planes, some of which aren't perfect), then this is hard to beat. The 172 was instantly familiar and everything worked the way I expected. My old Thrustmaster joystick worked with no hassles. I love the scenery auto-download feature. I haven't tried multiplayer or a lot of the other features, but I'm really enjoying it so far. The controls seem a little more...quick? harsh? than in MSFS, but honestly, they're closer to the response of a real plane than MSFS. Landing seems "harder" in FlightGear than in MSFS, but that's because landing *is* harder than in MSFS. Kudos to the developers of this. I think you've made something really special.
  • Cool game
  • Best game. Control of aircrafts is better than Microsoft Flight Simulator.

  • Amazing! One of the best and realistic flight simulators out there! Graphics are not the best, but physics on most aircraft are just amazing!

  • Very good flight simulator (not flight game), with modern GUI, some aircrafts, joystick support, Free Addons, Aircrafts and scenery.

  • Es wirkt gut auf mich. Vor allem weil er eben kostenlos ist. Aber mich stört dass er bei mir immer abstürzt
  • An excellent, open source flight simulator.

  • I can't use FlightGear Simulator. It may not be fair to the program but my joystick cannot control the aircraft. All of the inputs seem to work but the speed of the rolls, dives, climbs, etc make it impossible to control. The joystick worked perfectly well on an older edition and it has no problems with other programs. Sorry for the low rating but that's the way it goes.

  • People rate this sim poorly and it's because they don't want to spend more than 5 minutes learning how things function, or are just plain stupid and can't read. Many things are still a work in progress but it is fantastic given how this is a thing anyone can contribute with if they wish. Many features and things are missing which is a bummer, but for something such as the Boeing 777, the interior and exterior is very nice, and to add on the majority of cockpit switches work as intended.

  • Can't fly with keyboard, commands should be elastic but they are plastic, when pressing some arrow the "virtual joystick" stays in it's position.

  • FlightGear is a simulator, that is filled with selfish toxic people, which only want to argue with everyone for everything. I started using it in 2014 and I used it till 2019. Graphics can look decent if you put all type of graphical goodies on max, but the performance will be a complete joke. Even an known people, used this simulator, like Vlad A. are amused from the low performance of the older versions, like 3.6 [ which never takeoff]. On base of the fact that Octal450 was the best airplane developer over there and he left this simulator had lost the best developer ever had. Based on the fact that FlightGear is filled with code I wonder why nobody cares for the users experience, nobody cares for the p3erformance and the graphics in this simulator. FlightGear is not a good community as well, there a bunch of developers at their forum act like everyone else are always wrong nvm what anyone says. Thorsten, the magnificient developer of the sapce shuttle has the ability to say whatever he wants, he likes to twist the sense and meaning of all people posting there, taking parts from their words and twisting it to meet his own agenda. The simulator does not have any users any longer, those people flying at the multiplayer map are mostly developers, also there is 2-3 people sitting on a place [ airport] and not moving for hours per deylight, even for a few days.

  • On Mac Os Catalina 10.15.1 crashes immediately, doesn't start at all.

  • The best flight simulator for free!! I really like the quality of the scenery, the flight dinamics of the aircrafts and the high performance. You have a lot of choice with many planes and helicopters and you can improve skills and experience making different types of flights. It's also possible to make flights with friends over the fg multiplayer or to partecipate at events with ATC controlled area.

  • It is very concerning that a) this application recommends that you disable your antivirus software before installing and B) Windows 10 defender flags up 2 severe security threats for Trojan:Script/Cloxer.A!cl trojan. A user should never have to (or be asked) to disable their AV before installing an executable downloaded from the net, this makes no sense whatsoever. Whether this is false-positive or not, I clearly have no idea but I have to trust my AV as my first defence. The author should look into this.
