The Archieverse[1] is a television franchise based on the characters from the Archie Comic Publications, Inc. Home to such notable characters as Archie Andrews, Betty Cooper, Veronica Lodge, Jughead Jones, Josie and the Pussycats, and Sabrina Spellman. The first of three Archieverse series, Riverdale, premiered on January 26, 2017 on The CW. Just a few months after Riverdale had finished its Freshman run, The CW announced a companion series starring Sabrina Spellman, titled The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.[2] However, in December of 2017, it was reported that 'Sabrina' would be moving to Netflix with a 2-season order.[3] On May 7, 2019, The CW announced that Katy Keene, the Archieverse's third and most recent addition, had been ordered to series.[4]

Showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa confirmed that his new show, the Pretty Little Liars spin-off, Pretty Little Liars Original Sin and Riverdale are "technically set in the same universe." In Season 1 Episode 6, "Chapter Six: Scars" it is stated that a mentally disturbed character was sent to the Sisters of Quiet Mercy in the town of Riverdale. As for the "interesting dilemma" of Lucy Hale holding two roles as Katy Keene and Aria Montgomery, executive producer Lindsay Calhoon Bring said she would love a crossover with Hale in duplicate playing both. [5] Moreover, Lucy Hale would be just one of many actors with multiple roles in the Archieverse, i.e. Luke Cook playing both Lucifer Morningstar and Guy LaMontagne in Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and Katy Keene, respectively.
