I’m an Assistant Professor with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Illinois, working in the Power and Energy Systems area. I am also affiliated with the Information Trust Institute, at the University of Illinois. My current research is focused on power system monitoring, operations and control, and data-driven smart grid applications.
I received a BS in electronic engineering from Tsinghua University in China in 2006, an MS in electrical engineering with a minor in mathematics from the University of Minnesota in 2009, and a PhD in electrical engineering from the same institution in 2012. During my graduate studies, I worked in the SPinCOM group advised by Prof. G. B. Giannakis.
Updates
- We have an upcoming paper in the IEEE Trans. Power Systems: “Blocking Device Placement for Mitigating the Effects of Geomagnetically Induced Currents.” The conference version was invited to Network Theory Symposium at the GlobalSIP Conference 2014.
- We have two upcoming papers in the IEEE Journal of Special Topics in Signal Processing (JSTSP): “Power System Nonlinear State Estimation using Distributed Semidefinite Programming,” and “Effects of Phasor Measurement Uncertainty on Power Line Outage Detection”.
