bacula/general backups are one of the main components on handling WMF infrastructure backups and recoveries, others being database-backups and media-backups.

The main software used for general backup generation and storage is Bacula.

Most of the configuration is handled on the operations/puppet repository, in particular the backup and bacula modules/profiles.
