New Castle County’s Sewer Bill Payment Deadline Arrives February 28

New Castle, DE – New Castle County reminds residents that the deadline for paying 2017 sewer service bills is Tuesday, February, 28. Bills were originally sent to customers through postal mail last month. Customers who have questions, have misplaced or did not receive their bill can contact the New Castle County Office of Finance at (302) 323-2600 weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Sewer service payments can be made through several convenient methods:

  • By mail to New Castle County Sewer, P.O. Box 470, Claymont, DE 19703. Check and money order payments can be made by completing and returning the printed sewer service invoice.
  • In person at the New Castle County Government Center, located at 87 Reads Way in New Castle. The payment window is staffed from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday and payments are accepted by cash, check, money order, and PIN debit card. Extended hours will be offered until 6 p.m. on February 27 and 28. A 24-hour payment drop box for check and money order payments is located at the main entrance to the building.
  • Online and phone payments with major credit cards can be made through Paymentus, a third-party vendor that accepts Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, and electronic check. Customers can access the secure Paymentus site through the New Castle County sewer billing webpage at www.nccde.org/230/Sewer-Billing and can initiate a credit card payment over the phone by calling Paymentus toll-free at 1-877-225-7351. Note:  Paymentus charges a service fee of $5.25 for each transaction per $650 increment. Questions concerning payments through Paymentus should be directed to its Customer Contact Center at 1-800-420-1663.

In an effort to serve residents in the southern part of New Castle County, on Thursday, February 16 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., county finance staff will be on-hand to accept cash, check, money order, and PIN debit card payments at the Recreation Center in the Appoquinimink Library, 651 N. Broad Street, Middletown.

County residents can review their sewer service payment status and history through the interactive parcel search page of the New Castle County website at www.nccde.org/parcelview.

Any unpaid sewer service balances as of March 1 are subject to a six-percent penalty, with additional one-percent penalties applied for each additional month.
