EHS National Honor Society Chapter Inducts 16 New Members

NHS INDUCTION CEREMONY -- The Eldorado High School chapter of the 2024-2025 National Honor Society inducted 16 new members on Monday, November 18th in the EHS auditorium. Eagles Fall to Tahoka in Bi-District Playoff Round

EAGLE ON THE LOOSE -- Eldorado Eagles quarterback Jonnie Rae Adame attracted a pack of Tahoka Bulldog defenders as he looked for running room around the left end of the line of scrimmage. Twenty-five United States military veterans were honored for their service by the Eldorado Woman’s Club on Tuesday in the Methodist Church Fellowship Hall. They were treated to the traditional Thanksgiving meal of turkey and dressing and all the trimmings.

QUARTERBACK SACK -- Jonah Penkszyk sacks McCamey quarterback Trace McMurray during the first quarter of last Friday night’s season finale at Larry Mitchel Stadium. The Eagles scored first and never look back as they coasted to a 66-6 win. In addition to the QB sack, Penkszyk tallied two solo tackles, three assists, and two tackles for loss. He also scored a touchdown on a 12-yard pass from Jonnie Rae Adame and fell on a McCamey fumble in the end zone for a safety. --

Texas Ends Mandatory Vehicle Safety Inspections Starting Jan. 1

Beginning January 1, 2025, Texas vehicle owners will no longer be required to obtain an annual safety inspection for non-commercial vehicles before registering them. This change, brought about by House Bill 3297 during the 88th Legislature in 2023, effectively ends the state’s vehicle safety inspection program for most personal vehicles.

Multiple Arrests in Clean Scanning Operation

AUSTIN – The Texas Department of Public Safety’s (DPS) Regulatory Services Division (RSD) continues to work to address illegal activity surrounding fraudulent vehicle emissions inspections known as “clean scanning.” In its most recent enforcement operation, which was conducted in the Houston area this month, 19 warrants were secured for criminal activity related to clean scanning.
