The Varkolak were a spacefaring species. Their territory included the Gavaria sector.
In 2255 of the Kelvin timeline, several Varkolak visited San Francisco to participate in an Interspecies Medical Summit. They resembled bipedal wolves, with long snouts, pointed ears, sharp teeth and long, bushy tails. Varkolak language was very complex, consisting of a combination of words, smells and body movements. The Varkolak had a reputation among Humans for being monsters, with reports of their drinking of blood and for howling at moons. (ST - SA novel: The Assassination Game)
