The USS Champion was a Federation Defiant-class escort/destroyer starship in Starfleet service in the 24th century. This ship was in active service around the 2370s decade, and was one of a number of vessels bearing this name. (TNG video games: Armada, Armada II)
This ship was a successor in the name Champion. The previous Miranda-class USS Champion, had been in service as of the late 23rd century. (FASA RPG module: Federation Ship Recognition Manual)
- No specific history or definitive final fate was established for this vessel as its name was selected for a destroyer by the Armada II game developers, and is sometimes placed randomly when the ship appears. The ship may be named for people, places, vessels or groups from both history and fiction, all named for common meaning of the term "champion", a person winning a contest of skill.
