Trianguli sector

Trianguli sector planets.

The Trianguli sector was a vast sector, a region in the southern hemisphere of the galaxy ranging from 24,000 to 27,000 light years from the Galactic core at galactic longitudes of 290 - 310 degrees. It contained stars in the galaxy's Alpha and Beta Quadrants.

History and specifics[]

The sector was named for 145 Trianguli. Its space included stars and systems visible from Earth in the Apus, Circinus, Norma, Octans, Pavo, Sagittarius, and Triangulum constellations.

In 2275, the Starfleet explorer USS Robert A. Heinlein under the command of Hikaru Sulu disappeared while on a classified assignment in the sector. The starship USS Enterprise was dispatched on a rescue mission.

In 2285, the Enterprise's recovery of Heinlein and an exploration of the sector was incorporated into a new version of the Kobayashi Maru scenario taken by cadets aboard the training ship USS Sans Souci. (TOS video game: The Kobayashi Alternative)
